Research basis and limits
How ABLE was made, and how far its results can go
- ABLE began with a study on measuring entrepreneurial competency (Kim and Shin, 2025), presented at the 2025 Spring Conference of The Korea Entrepreneurship Society.
- The reliability and validity of the 39-item scale were confirmed with 253 employees in their 20s to 60s, chosen by stratified random sampling.
- For the 12-item short form, we picked 3 items per area so that each covers a different situation.
Limits to keep in mind
- The comparison group is employees, so it may differ from a group of entrepreneurs only.
- The short form was checked with the same raw data. Testing it with a new sample is still to come.
- Answers are self-reported, so results can change with how you feel that day.
- It does not judge whether you are suited to entrepreneurship or predict success.
